High-resolution variable codes, text, graphics, and database printing for labels, films, pouches, foil, cartons, and coated packaging.

Application overview

Packaging and label production increasingly requires more than a static date code. Converters and manufacturers may need unique QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers, batch information, promotional codes, graphics, and database-driven content across short and long production runs.

UV inkjet is a core Inkjetwell solution for high-resolution variable data on controlled flat labels, cards, films, foil, coated paper, and packaging. Multi-head JW-6000 configurations can expand the nominal print width, while the JW8000C supports full-color inline production. TIJ is suitable for cartons, boxes, labels, and selected films with the correct cartridge. CIJ remains practical for simple high-speed coding on moving packs.

Ink and process considerations

Material flatness, tension, surface energy, pretreatment, ink flexibility, curing, transport, registration, and inspection affect the final result. PP, PE, and other low-surface-energy films may require plasma, corona, or primer treatment.

What Inkjetwell needs to evaluate

  • Roll, sheet, card, or conveyor format
  • Material width and print width
  • Number of lanes
  • Fixed and variable artwork
  • Speed and registration tolerance
  • Surface treatment
  • UV curing capacity
  • Data source and inspection requirement
