Accurate date, batch, DataMatrix, QR code, serial-number, and product-identity printing for pharmaceutical and medical packaging.
Application overview
Pharmaceutical and medical products require accurate, readable, and controlled information across cartons, labels, bottles, foil, masks, and medical packaging. Typical requirements include batch numbers, expiry dates, DataMatrix codes, unique serial identities, and production traceability.
TIJ is widely suited to high-resolution codes on cartons, labels, and suitable packaging. UV inkjet provides sharp variable data and immediate curing on tested flat or coated materials. CIJ is practical for high-speed coding on bottles and curved containers. Laser may be selected for permanent marks when the material and process are compatible.
Printing hardware is only one part of a serialization project. Data generation, printer control, code verification, reject handling, record association, and system integration may also be required.

Ink and validation considerations
Ink must match the packaging material, drying time, adhesion, abrasion, processing, and documentation requirements. The customer remains responsible for its regulatory validation and approved production procedure.
